And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children...

Nathan Logan

Ward Executive Secretary

Since this pandemic hit a lot has changed in my life, and at the same time not a lot has changed in my life. I still work, but most of that work is from home now. I still eat breakfast and lunch and dinner. I still spend time with my brothers and sisters online. I've checked on my ministering families more than I have in the past. But, the biggest change, and the change that I am the most grateful for, is that I have been able to spend quality time with my children. Before all this craziness I would wake up, eat breakfast, and go to work, and I was lucky if I got home right before the kids went to bed most nights. But now I get to see my kids during the day and spend time with them. For those of you who have not experienced your kids during the day, they are much more happy when they're not tired and hungry. It has been so fun to be able to spend time with my kids when they're at their happiest and me when I'm at my happiest. A lot of times coming home I'm tired and I'm just ready to relax, and if they're crying, it just doesn't work out very well for any of us.

This whole time I've been thinking about what Malichi 4:6 says, "And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse". We can relate this scripture to us in our lives right now. This is a great time to turn your hearts to each other. I know it has been for us, and I have been so grateful for it. All of us are either a father, mother, daughter, son, husband, or wife and we should use this time to be a family unit. To get to know each other a little bit better and spend time with each other, quality time, and I know there will be fighting, and I know there will be times where we get annoyed and maybe even get a little cabin fever but this may be one of the only times in your life where you can slow down this much and spend so much time as a family together.

I know that this gospel is true. I am so grateful for the leaders in the church, they are here to help us all.  I'm so very grateful for a prophet that we have to receive revelation and guide us in this time. I am grateful for the opportunity that we had to fast as a church and as a world and I'm hopeful to the future. I am enjoying this time that I have right now with my family. This is the restored gospel of Jesus Christ, Joseph smith was called of God to be the first prophet of this dispensation, and we still have a prophet on the earth today to lead and guide us. Have faith brothers and sisters for there are brighter days ahead. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
