Weekly Calendar items:

Tues, Dec. 6 -

  • ALL DAY |OLD TESTAMENT TABERNACLE VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY| Washington Stake is responsible to fill ALL the tour shifts & security shifts for the Tabernacle project for the entire 24 hour day. The following volunteer shifts are needed:

    1. Tabernacle Volunteers YOUTH PREFERRED: The first set of volunteers are the Tabernacle tour volunteers. It is preferred that these time and shift slots be filled by Youth (11-18). If youth cannot staff these times and locations, then we ask that YSA students serve next, and lastly adults.

    2. Visitor Center Guides: The next set of volunteers are for Visitor Center Guides. These slots can be filled with either youth or adults.

      1. Greeters: Will help patrons sign in, keep a count of patrons in attendance, and help them get assigned to a video room.

      2. Rooms 1A and 1B: These volunteers will show a 10-minute video prior to visitors entering the Tabernacle.

      3. Ushers: Ushers will be placed at various stations outside and inside to keep the flow going and to help patrons get to where they are needed.

      4. Check-in coordinator for Volunteers: This person will be checking in the volunteers as they arrive.

      5. Event Security (24/7): We will need two people onsite for security 24/7. Each shift will be 4-hours and will begin at 9:00am on our assigned day and end at 9:00AM THE FOLLOWING day.   • 7PM |TABERNACLE HOLIDAY EVENT| The St. George Institute Combined Choirs and Orchestra will present an evening of music entitled “Love and Joy.” Come enjoy these young voices as they celebrate the Savior’s birth, under the direction of Brother Marshall McConkie.

  • 6PM |BOY'S PRIMARY ACTIVITY| Meet at the church

  • 7PM |YM Joint Activity| Nativity at Tuacahn

  • 7PM |TABERNACLE HOLIDAY EVENT| Master Singers, a Men’s Vocal Group, feels honored to share their program, the “Comfort and Joy of Christmas.” They are directed by Louise Segar and accompanied by Dana Mathews.

Thurs, Dec. 8 -

  • 6PM |YW Joint Activity| Progressive Dinner

  • 7PM |TABERNACLE HOLIDAY EVENT| Former Professor of Church History at Brigham Young University and renowned lecturer, Susan Easton Black, will return to share insights about “Mary and the Birth of Jesus Christ” in a Jewish setting.

Fri, Dec 9 -

  • 7PM |BUILDING CLEANING| It is time for the 11th Ward member to help clean the building for the month of December. Please meet Friday at 7PM the week you have been asked to help, if you are unable to help the week you have been asked please find someone to swap with for another week. Watch for a text or email reminder.   • 7PM |TABERNACLE HOLIDAY EVENT| The St. George Children’s Choir and Chamber Singers are under the direction of Paul Wiens. The Chamber Choir will present choruses from the Christmas section of the Messiah. The Children’s Choir will sing a few Christmas pieces and be joined by the Chamber Singers for two lovely songs. It should be a treat to attend.

Sat, Dec 10 -

  • 7PM |TABERNACLE HOLIDAY EVENT| Pianist, Garry Gentry, will perform “Christmas, the Way I LIKE IT.” It includes holiday arrangements Garry has done in a way that’s fun and new--and that he loves to share.

  • MONDAY, DECEMBER 12, 2022 AT 6 PM – 8 PM | 3rd Annual Neighborhood Food Drive | Hosted by The Frogley's 587 E Springhill Dr. Come join us for our 3rd Annual neighborhood Food Drive to help families in our community this holiday season! We will have some hot chocolate and cookies, as well as a fire or two, and good company to go around. Please bring non-perishable food items to donate to The Utah Food Bank, and spread the word!
