In the book Saints (Vol.1) William Smith, brother of the prophet, has a knock down-literally-fight with Joseph. Afterwards, he felt terrible and begged forgiveness. Here is what is said,
A few days later, as he recovered from the fight, Joseph received a message from his brother. “I feel as though it was a duty to make a humble confession,” William stated. Afraid that he was unworthy of his calling, he asked Joseph to remove him from the Quorum of the Twelve.
“Do not cast me off for what I have done, but strive to save me,” he begged. “I do repent of what I have done to you.”
Joseph forgave him and asked for his forgiveness. It is so nice to know that we don't have to be perfect. We just have to keep getting up when we've been knocked down.
Elder Jeffery R. Holland has said that we get credit for trying. Brothers and Sisters, I know this is a trying time. Please keep moving forward, just keep swimming, or whatever favorite Disney phrase you have to use. :) As President Kimball used to say, do it!
I love you all and pray for your safety and that you will continue to minister to those in need in our ward and neighborhood. I pray the blessings of the Lord be with you in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
