Dear Ward Members
I hope this fine you in a happy good day. Each day we have new challenges and trials. So here I go giving you a new challenge and trial. All in one talk. Ready, set, go.
I come to you as part of my calling in the Elders Quorum. It is over temple work. As I type this the St. George Temple is closed. The new Red Cliffs Utah Temple, is getting ready to break ground. The Cedar City Temple is a small drive north of here and closed.
Where can we do Temple work? We can do temple work right from Home. Yep that’s right. And you don’t even need a temple recommend to do the work. Just need internet some time and your account on the church of Jesus Christ of the Latter-Day Saints web page. Then click on the family search under your account. In the header there is a place to do indexing.
There is a bunch of different levels and languages and countries to choose from. I looked up on the church's website under indexing in the search area. There was a great talk and step by step instructions on how to do indexing. It is a talk by Margot Hovely called Easier than Ever. It’s a great starting point to those new to indexing. From youth to old people like me.
I encourage all in our ward to take some time, schedule it for a family home evening, when the kids say they are bored. You can introduce them to a new and wonderful thing that helps others reconnect with their families and gets them into the temple for proxy work.
What blessings that is for not only us. Just think of the Blessings on the other side of the veil for those waiting.
I leaving you this Testimony Brothers and Sister of the 11th Ward. Gods work always will go on. We may be dealing with a lot with what's going on right now. Yet, we can help in a lot of small and blessed ways to those that need it. How excited would you be to be doing your genealogy and see names ready for you by someone you didn’t know. That my ward family is a wonderful exciting blessing. I love Heavenly Father and all the small things he does for me. I am grateful when I use my talents to help in my small way. To help his work to go on. I say this in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
