I saw this poem come through on my Facebook feed a few weeks ago and I haven't been able to get it out of my mind. I love it so much. As we wear masks to help ease fears and to help protect others, the thing I miss seeing most is others' smiles. When I have a chance to visit with a friend, or smile and laugh with a neighbor, I feel lifted. It's like a breath of fresh air. We need each other. We need the reminder that there is so much joy to be found in our everyday lives. We need to create opportunities to feel the love of our Savior and then share that love with the world. I am grateful to each of you for the love and kindnesses you have shared with me through the years. I hope to repay those kindnesses by "infecting" others.
Smiling Is Infectious
by Jez Alborough
Smiling is infectious,
you catch it like the flu,
When someone smiled at me today,
I started smiling too.
I passed around the corner
and someone saw my grin.
When he smiled I realized
I'd passed it on to him.
I thought about that smile,
then I realized its worth.
A single smile, just like mine
could travel round the earth.
So, if you feel a smile begin,
don't leave it undetected.
Let's start an epidemic quick,
and get the world infected!
