How can I minister to others if I can’t see them regularly?
As members of the Church follow the recommendations of health officials and practice physical distancing and stay at home, when possible, you might wonder: How can I minister to others if I can’t see them regularly?
Here are a few ideas:Pray for your families and individuals by name. Then act on promptings from the Holy Ghost as you consider ways to help others feel loved, included, and important.Consider a virtual visit. Video calls can provide some facetime and fun.Talk with your ministering companion. He or she likely has some great ideas.Be a source of joy, optimism, comfort, and peace. Share a scripture via text. Or visit Hearhim.churchofjesuschrist.org and consider sharing one of the picture quotes or images of Christ.Call. Let them hear the sincere love and concern in your voice. “I miss seeing you! How are you dealing with everything?” Assess their immediate needs. Do they have food, shelter, supplies?Listen and validate their feelings. Respond with compassion and understanding. If immediate needs exist, identify ways you can safely help and relay any concerns to ward leaders.Things are challenging, but the Lord has given us tools to keep watching over one another.
Dear Sisters,
We wanted you to know that some of the ministering assignments have changed. Please check in your LDS Tools account to see if yours have changed.
The Bishop has asked that we contact each of our sisters this week verbally, and then report to one of the Presidency.
If your ministering sister assigned to you, doesn't contact you, feel free to contact them as well. We want to make sure each sister is contacted verbally this week.
We hope you are all doing well, if you need anything please contact one of the presidency. We love you so much and you are always in our prayers.
"Heaven is cheering you on today, tomorrow and forever." Jeffrey R. Holland
